Why do you need WHEEL-CHECK?

The WHEEL-CHECK Mission Statement
A Visual Commitment to Safety

Our mission is to create a commitment to safety which means safer roads for the public, the drivers and the environment. Truck wheel detachment in North America has become a major problem causing a large number of very serious accidents, some even resulting in the unfortunate and tragic loss of life.

Even with excellent in-house maintenance programs which focus on daily wheel inspections, the industry is still experiencing loose wheel nuts and wheel detachments. Frequent checking and re-torquing can actually compound the problem by stretching and weakening the wheel studs.

Manufacturers recommend the replacement of the wheel studs after they have been torqued three times. We say, “If the wheel nut has not moved, why torque it?”

With the introduction of Wheel-Checks, our simple and effective product provides the users with the knowledge of when a wheel nut has moved by simply doing a walkaround and visualizing.

Wheel-Check loose wheel-nut indicators are yellow and Wheel-Torque retorquing identifiers are red. When a nut has moved, simply remove the yellow indicator and replace it with a red Wheel-Torque identifier. This will help retorque service providers identify the problem wheel and a thorough maintenance on the specific wheel must be done to ensure safety.
